Pike Fishing Match
21 October 2008
The south bank of Manor Lake is closed on Saturday 8th November for a pike fishing match. The rest of the lake is open as normal for fishing.
All the places are filled, but feel free to go along a watch some fantastic predator action!
The match will be organised so that competitors are fishing in pairs - one experienced pike angler and one pike angling newcomer. Its a great opportunity to learn some great tips and techniques from serious pike fishermen with many years of experience.
Here's a photo of the largest pike that we've seen come out of Manor Lake. It was caught by Clive Bristow and weighed 26lbs 2oz. That was in 2005 and its not been caught since! Maybe it'll put in an appearance at the match?
